At Sira, if your medical pregnancy test is positive, we will then determine the date for a free limited obstetrical ultrasound appointment. The ultrasound will confirm the pregnancy viability.
The ultrasound allows our trained healthcare providers to locate the developing baby, determine if there is a heartbeat and estimate your due date. It can also alert us to signs of ectopic pregnancy, which requires immediate medical attention.
Like our medical pregnancy tests, these ultrasounds are provided free of charge and your results are 100% confidential.
Do I need an ultrasound if I think I’m pregnant?
A positive medical pregnancy test means you’re almost certainly pregnant, but the only way to be 100% sure is to then have an ultrasound. Read more.
What is an ectopic pregnancy?
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus, usually within one of the fallopian tubes. In some instances, the condition can be life-threatening.
